I feel ashamed that Mawan compares us Ibans with the minority Bidayuh. Mawan has been around long enough to have effect change for Iban progress. Now he has to ask SDNU to help Iban put up a cultural showcase just like what a small community of Bidayuh in Singai, Bau can do.

Ibans, with more than a million people, can only try to do what these Bidayuh have accomplished.

Mwan can’t do much even in his ministerial capacity. How shameful!

Bala Urang Ulu maioh udah pengawa baka tu, eg. pesta sape di marudi, Pesta Kenyah di miri, pesta highlanders (kelabit), bala bidayuh bisi pesta berumuh, bung bratak.

Whether we are Iban or Bidayuh or other minor ethnic group, we should be proud of our heritage. I’m proud to be called a Dayak, need not matter that I’m half Iban and half Bidayuh. Take the good of both custom, culture, language, food and you name it, for the benefit of our ichit. Such is the diversity which you can only find in Sarawak.

    Dear Mabel,

Your suggestion is good. We all contribute for the good of our community. If we feel we have any issues, whether it be business, social and/or educational, I don’t think we should await someone else to start the ball rolling. We can start with yourself. Cheers.
